How They Met:
Kazz and Tayshia met at a party that a mutual friend of theirs was hosting in Virginia Beach, VA. They were introduced to each other rather early in the evening and within a few minutes, they were laughing and sharing stories of their childhood.
They began dating soon after but agreed that it would be too difficult to continue building a new relationship long-distance when Tayshia was away at school and while Kazz was staying in Virginia Beach. They kept in touch and remained friends, at least, that’s what they thought they were doing.
Kazz couldn’t stop thinking about Tayshia and started sending her flowers and cupcakes while she was studying out of town. When she finished her degree and moved back to Virginia Beach, VA, she was craving some chinese food and posted a status online that she was heading there and jokingly added, “Who’s coming??”. Kazz was quick to reply and called her up. They’ve been together ever since.
How They Asked:
A few years into dating each other, Tayshia agreed to organize a bridal shower for a mutual friend of hers and Kazz’s at her gorgeous home in Virginia Beach, VA. The girls had planned to have a nice afternoon of mimosas (and juice-free mimosas!) while opening gifts, and then continue on to a nice restaurant for dinner and drinks with their partners. Kazz, for some reason, asked Tayshia to wear a specific outfit because he ‘hadn’t seen her in it yet’. She agreed.
After the bridal shower was done, the girls started getting into cabs headed to the restaurant but Tayshia was shoved into the limo that pulled up in front of her place. Alone! Sitting by herself in the back, she noticed a note on the seat. It was from Kazz. She quickly understood that most likely, he was going to pop the question. There was really no other explanation.
The limo pulled up to its final destination and to Tayshia’s surprise, they weren’t at the restaurant she had made reservations at. They had arrived at Virginia Beach’s beautiful Historic Cavalier Hotel. Upon arrival she noticed Kazz walking towards her looking handsome as ever and a photographer snapping pictures of the whole thing. She started to cry.
He hugged her and took a step back. He held her hands and began expressing his undying love for her and reminding her of everything they had been through together up until that point. He then pulled out a gorgeous diamond engagement ring, made by a local diamond jeweler from Virginia Beach, VA, and got down on one knee. He could barely get out his question before Tayshia screamed, “YES!!!”. They spent the rest of the night celebrating with friends and have gorgeous photos to remind them of the magical proposal.
