Maryland, known as the Free State, is well-loved for its fishing and has the highest number of blue crabs in the United States. It’s home to the country’s longest escalator and is the only state with an official state exercise: walking. The town of Bel Air, meaning “beautiful area” in French, is home to several attractions like Independent Brewing Company, Liriodendron Mansion, Ma and Pa Trail, Tudor Hall, and Bel Air Farmers’ Market. We Marylanders are also proud to welcome you into any of our several fine jewelry stores in Bel Air, MD, carrying the best diamond engagement rings Little America has to offer.
The prospect of getting engaged is exciting, but once the initial excitement wears off, ring-related issues can float to the surface, and panic can ensue. What ring does she want? Where should I buy it? How much will it cost? When will it be ready? All these questions will undoubtedly arise, along with a thousand others. The truth is, there are many decisions on the road to finding and personalizing the ring of her dreams, but if you’re smart, you will trust a local diamond jeweler to help you along the way.
Now it’s important to note that you can still benefit from looking for diamond engagement rings online as long as you don’t buy directly there. Social media accounts created especially for displaying engagement rings can go a long way and give you a good idea of what’s out there. Learning about diamonds yourself and having a basic understanding of the world of engagement rings will help you immensely once you meet your local diamond jeweler in Bel Air, MD. There you can see and feel your diamond ring in person, rather than relying solely on a computer-generated image to be accurate. Having a diamond ring in (and on!) your hand and working with a trusted and professional jeweler is the only way to safely purchase a ring for your proposal.
Once you’ve met with your local jeweler, feel free to use them to their fullest potential when planning your proposal. After years of working with couples and hearing many proposal stories told, local jewelers gain a wealth of knowledge, particularly about romantic spots and ways of asking the big question. We spoke to some of our diamond jeweler partners in Bel Air, MD, and asked if they could provide us with the goods. This is what they had to share with us:

We met with the store’s manager, Stuart Tamres, and asked: What is the most memorable proposal story you heard from a Bel Air, MD customer?
“One of the most memorable proposal stories that we’ve heard in our jewelry store in Bel Air had to be the one that took place in a hot air balloon. Proposing on top of the city with the sights underneath made for a unique and memorable proposal.” – Stuart T

How They Met:
Jerry and Anita met while they were both serving in the US Air Force about 10 years ago. They were both Security Forces instructors and immediately hit it off. Later they both trained to become Special Investigators and Federal Agents. They continued their friendship while they both lived in Bel Air, MD, and started seeing each other more often around town. Eventually, Jerry retired but Anita stayed on and they both decided to start dating, or, at least try it out now that they weren’t working together.
Jerry admitted to always having a “thing” for Anita and was overjoyed when she agreed to finally go on a date with him. They both shared the same dark sense of humor and always loved playing pranks on one another. When Jerry decided to propose to Anita, he knew it would have to be the biggest prank that he would ever pull off. He wanted to stage a crime scene and get Anita to use her forensic skills and CSI training to help her solve the puzzle that was his proposal. He had some help and pulled it off to get hitched without a hitch!
How They Asked:
Anita’s supervisor sent her a notification that was code for her immediate assistance. He apologized for reaching out to her while she was on vacation leave but explained that he really needed her help and specific expertise.
Jerry had been with Anita’s daughter that morning and had left the apartment, so he wasn’t available. She had to go to work and didn’t let him know. She recalls being a bit nervous that she couldn’t reach him but was experienced in having things pop up last minute.
She got to the scene of the crime all geared up in her appropriate attire. She was briefed on the situation by her supervisor and immediately got to work. Apparently, the hotel maid was strangled by her partner who suspected she was having an affair and staying late at work to be with this other man.
Anita noticed the “deceased” woman on the floor was holding a note. When she began reading it, it became clear that this had all been a set-up. The note described many of her and Jerry’s special moments together in great detail. Anita immediately burst out laughing and started looking around for Jerry. He walked into the room and the body on the ground also began to shake with laughter. It was their mutual best friend under a sheet!
Jerry presented Anita with a gorgeous diamond engagement ring from Bel Air, MD, and apologized for giving her a scare. He asked if she wanted to keep spending the rest of their lives pranking each other. She gladly said yes.
