Tennessee, from the old Yuchi Indian word, “Tana-see,” meaning “The Meeting Place”, is home to the heart of country music, its capital, Nashville. With Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and an extraordinary stretch of honky-tonks and dance halls, the city rivals Memphis, the home of Elvis Presley’s Graceland, for most legendary rock & roll spots. The Volunteer State has also produced the likes of Aretha Franklin, Dolly Parton, and Justin Timberlake, to name a few. How They Met:
Kayleigh and Brad, although both from different states, met in Knoxville, TN, while on work trips for the same company. Brad claims to have known that the two were going to end up together the first time he saw Kayleigh at the company’s ‘meet and greet’. They spent the work weekend hanging out, felt a certain something, but both passed it off as a passing crush.
The next year at the same conference, they shared a kiss after one of the pub nights and they started dating soon after. Of course, they had to do the whole ‘long distance thing’ for a while, but within half a year, their company conveniently offered both of them positions at their Knoxville, TN, headquarters.
How They Asked:
One sunny Wednesday in Knoxville, TN, Kayleigh asked Brad if he would take the weekend off work for an “adventure day”. Brad was into it and said he wanted to also arrange for some fun things to do, so he scheduled a couples massage at a local spa and planned for a charming little picnic at a nearby winery. Brad, as usual, brought his GoPro with him as he often did on “adventure days”. She was expecting him to also have some kind of extreme sport planned as a surprise but when they walked out into an open field and he got down on one knee, she understood why the GoPro was mounted on his head. Her incredible reaction was perfectly captured. She said yes and loved her diamond ring from Knoxville, TN.
