Memphis is the largest city on the Mississippi River in southwest Tennessee and the second most populated in the Volunteer State. Previously known as Bluff City because of its physical location, Memphis, now dubbed ‘Home of the Blues’ for its musical influence, is also known as the ‘Birthplace of Rock ‘n Roll’. With loads of fascinating historical sites related to our musical contributions, you’re sure to turn into a “Big Hunk O’ Love” after finding her dream ring at one of our fine local diamond jewelry stores in Memphis, TN.
If you look at your partner and notice that you’ve stopped freaking out when you consider spending eternity with her, you can give yourself the green light to start looking for a diamond engagement ring. Again, this doesn’t mean you have to pull the trigger on the first diamond ring you find, but you can certainly start your ring hunt.
Finding the perfect ring doesn’t happen overnight. It can take weeks to find the specific style you have in mind. Feeling overwhelmed by the options can quickly become overpowering, and before you know it, you’ll find yourself swimming in a pool of diamond decisions. This is why you want to work with a trusted local diamond jeweler in Memphis, TN. Their diamond expertise and personal approach are what you need to make sure you get the best value.
Another benefit of working with a professional local diamond jeweler is that you can ask about other engagement-related topics. Jewelers have years of experience working with diamonds, but over time they collect other little bits of information about the proposal, such as finding the most romantic place to propose and creative ways to pop the question. We spoke to some of our local jeweler partners to see if they had any ideas on the best places to propose in Memphis, TN. This is what they shared with us:
“With close to 80 years of experience in the jewelry business and especially diamond engagement rings, the staff at Robert Irwin Jewelers are incredibly knowledgeable about the whole engagement process. We recommend proposing somewhere special and romantic, such as the Mississippi River on Bill Street and Peabody. Such a location will be gorgeous at sunset or golden hour and look amazing in photos.” – Robert Irwin Jewelers

Our most memorable proposal story belonged to a customer who popped the question while taking a romantic stroll over the Mississippi Bridge as the sun was setting over Memphis. With proper guidance from Robert Irwin Jewelers, our friend picked out the best engagement ring for his sweetheart and was ready to propose in a picture-perfect setting, overlooking Bluff City.

How They Met:
Jayne and Xander met while they were both attending the University of Memphis in Memphis, TN. Xander’s roommate was having a party and Jayne ended up popping by when a friend of hers texted her to come and say hi. Looking back, Xander remembers building up the courage to go and say hello. When he introduced himself, he accidentally sneezed a moment later, but won her over with his humor and charming personality. Although Xander is very extroverted and Jayne is quiet and bookish, they have always balanced each other out and laugh together often. They’re a good match and glad they met at that party years ago.
How They Asked:
Although Xander and Jayne both moved after college, they decided to go back and visit Memphis, TN, years later while on a cross-country road trip. It was nice seeing old places they had spent so much time in and reflected on the good old days when they were younger and didn’t know what was just around the bend. They visited Graceland on a gorgeous day and took some pictures, like all the other tourists. They walked around the beautiful garden and all of a sudden, Xander got down on one knee and expressed his love for Jayne. She was totally caught off guard. She said yes without hesitation and was overjoyed when she saw the diamond engagement ring Xander had custom made with a local diamond jeweler from Memphis, TN.
