We met with the store’s manager, Hagop Matossian, and asked: What is the most memorable proposal story you heard from a Boston, MA customer?
“The most memorable proposal story we have heard at Bostonian Jewelers came from a long-time client. He had his custom platinum diamond engagement ring in his pocket, tucked away safely in its presentation box. That afternoon, he was helping his future father-in-law with yard work at their oceanside home where he planned to propose. Later that day while they were enjoying the sunset at their family boat dock, he felt it was the perfect moment to kneel down and ask his gal to marry him. When he opened the box not knowing the ring was dislodged, the ring fell out and onto the dock, bounced, and slipped through the open slats into the water below.
Once they saw what happened, they both frantically ran back to the house to find some snorkel gear, and while running past her dad without stopping, announced they had just got engaged but their ring had fallen into the ocean. Armed with their snorkel gear, they quickly ran back to the dock, dove into the water where the ring had fallen and found the diamond engagement ring still sitting on the bottom of the ocean floor, right below where it had fallen. A happy ending. What a relief!” – Hagop M

We met with the store’s manager, Bob Amoroso, and asked: What is the most memorable proposal story you heard from a Boston, MA customer?
“One of our favorite Amoroso Jewelers proposal stories was when a Boston native took his girlfriend scuba diving on a vacation. We had made him a replica of the diamond ring he designed so that he could play around and use it however he saw fit. Naturally, he placed it in a secret, underwater spot for his girlfriend to discover. While exploring, he pointed to something close to him and motioned for her to swim over. He handed her a colorful shell and signaled for her to open it. We’re glad she had an oxygen tank because “the shock of it all was breath-taking”.” – Bob A
